My name is Saugat Thapa and AlderStone Projects is the studio I run as an independent sole trader. The studio came out of a simple observation: many homes in London are quietly underperforming. Spaces feel cramped not because they're too small, but because they aren't planned around how the household actually uses them. Rooms feel tired not because the bones are wrong, but because surfaces, light, storage, and flow haven't been refreshed in years. Every project I take on begins with listening. Before I make a single recommendation, I want to understand who lives in the home, how they move through it on a typical day, what frustrates them, and what they wish was different. That conversation guides everything else. I'm not interested in imposing a template or selling extras. I'm interested in identifying the smallest, most meaningful interventions that will make daily life noticeably better.
